I can't login.

Make sure you are using https://www.thelearningodyssey.com as the URL.

Next, check your school code. It defaults to "Odyssey". Just delete it and type in your school's code.

What app do we use for mobile devices and tablets?

To access Compass Learning® on a mobile device or tablet (anything that will not allow flash), Puffin Academy by CloudMosa will need to be downloaded. Download for free in your device's app store.

How does my student know where to go in Compass Learning®?

They begin by selecting the subject they should be working in.

Then, select the assignment. If there is more than one and the teacher has not given specific instructions, click into the first box on the left.

Nothing is loading.

There could be many reasons an activity is not loading, or the performance of the program has declined. Because Compass Learning® works on a web browser, this does require bandwidth. I have great bandwidth and speed too, but even I have troubles at home sometimes if everyone else is on their devices too.

It won't let my student move to the next activity.

Frequently when we are asked this question, it is because the student hasn't finished the practice activity yet. Practice activities open a new tab in the system. When the student navigates back, they have to click "finish". Sometimes, students exit the activity, and then can't move on (it won't check off).

I opened a link and now I don't know how to get back to my Compass Learning® home screen.

If you are not on a mobile device, you can do two things.

  1. Minimize open windows and find your open Compass Learning® window.
  2. Go down to your task bar (bottom of the computer screen) and find your browser icon. Hover there with your mouse and find Compass Learning®. Click on it.

How does my student review what activities or quizzes he/she has already completed?

Students can look at their previously completed work through the Student Portfolio.
